Staff Spotlight: Representing Njira Impact on the Continental Stage
Championing Community Health at the Masana Wa Africa ECD Conference.

This quarter, we are proud to spotlight Agness Mary Manda, Programs Manager at Njira Impact, who represented the organization at the Masana Wa Africa Early Childhood Development (ECD) Conference in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The conference brought together policymakers, practitioners, researchers, and development partners from across Africa to explore innovative approaches to improving early childhood development and maternal and newborn health.
At the conference, Agness shared Njira Impact’s experiences in strengthening community health systems through professionalized Community Health Workers (CHWs), improved speed of care, and integrated health and livelihood programming. She also engaged with fellow practitioners to exchange knowledge, learn from evidence-based approaches, and identify opportunities for collaboration that can strengthen community health outcomes in Malawi.
Her participation reflects Njira Impact’s commitment to ensuring that global and continental learning translates into practical, locally led solutions that improve the lives of women, children, and vulnerable communities.
“Participating in the Masana Wa Africa ECD Conference provided an opportunity to learn from leading practitioners across the continent while showcasing Njira Impact’s community-driven approach to improving maternal and child health. These exchanges strengthen our work and inspire innovative solutions for the communities we serve.”
