GROWING RESILIENCE IN THYOLO: THE Talandila FFBS JOURNEY THROUGH THE DREAMS PROJECT

In the heart of Thyolo, the Talandila FFBS is turning opportunity into lasting impact through the DREAMS Project by Njira Impact. What began as a small step—receiving sweet potato vines—has now grown into a powerful example of resilience, ambition, and community-led transformation.
Earlier this year, the group received sweet potato roots as part of the project’s support package. With dedication and teamwork, they multiplied the vines on their half-acre farm, ensuring that every piece of land was put to productive use. The outcome has been remarkable: a thriving plot filled with healthy vines ready for distribution and replanting.

But Talandila FFBS is not stopping there.Inspired by their success, the group is now taking a bigger step—they are in the process of registering as an official farmers’ club specializing in seed multiplication. Their vision is bold and forward-looking:
to become one of Malawi’s certified and reliable seed suppliers, contributing to national food security and ensuring farmers across the region have access to quality planting materials.
Through the DREAMS Project, Njira Impact is helping communities like Talandila FFBS strengthen climate-smart agriculture, diversify their livelihoods, and improve nutrition—all while empowering women, girls, and vulnerable households to build resilient futures.
The transformation happening in Talandila is more than agricultural progress. It is a story of people reclaiming their potential, building sustainable systems, and working together to secure a better tomorrow.
